Uh Oh!!! The elders are coming!!!

well after fading and keeping a low key i think the elders are finally going to get to me.

in 2007 i moved to another city but quickly moved back home about two months later.

the whole time everyone from my old congregation has been thinking i've been in another city.

Seriously, Dubs can't be treated as if they're going to respond like normal people to ANYthing we say or do.

That has to be the most disappointing aspect of this situation to me. The first thing she said after "hi" was "brother xxxx wants your phone number". It was like I was getting a response from an automated message rather than a person. I've been out so long I guess I forgot how much control this organization has over people.

Well after fading and keeping a low key I think the elders are finally going to get to me. In 2007 I moved to another city but quickly moved back home about two months later. The whole time everyone from my old congregation has been thinking I've been in another city. Well I came across a girl I use to like from my old congregation via facebook and sent her a message. She replied by saying "hi" and that one of the elders (the guy I studied with) wants my phone number. DAMN IT!!! They had my publisher's card for the last 3 years so I think it may be obvious that I haven't been active. I'm a little upset that this girl would even mention to him I contacted her on Facebook, don't really see why that's any of his business. On my facebook page I recently changed my info to reflect where I work and that I now live back in the same city with my old congregation because I got sick of hiding from these people by concealing all my info. They already have my address because I live in the same house I use to live in when I was active. I get the feeling if I don't give him my phone number I could be expecting a visit soon. Anybody have any advice?

Terry's Amazing Stories

am i the only one who think's a lot of the amazing stories terry come up with are fabricated or completely untrue?

every week he tells us how he by chance ran into a jw, mormon, evangilcial, etc.

and comes up with witty answers every time to counter every point they make and than have them running in fear.

I find it interesting that Terry himself, the man I questioned, didn't resort to sarcasm and name calling like those who defended him, even though they weren't even the ones being questioned.

i really needed to find a place to write this as i don't believe i can talk with anyone else about my account, perhaps it is similar to a lot of yours.. last night for whatever reason i said i would go online and look up information on jws.

i have been raised as a jw all my life and baptized the last few years.

i looked at www.freeminds.org and www.sixscreensofthewatchtower.com and couldn't believe how easily the whole of my lifes teachings were refuted.. i can't stop my brain from running, bs just in regards to theology alone (1914, paradise earth, celebrations etc.

My post didn't really have a purpose. I was just angry that he called me an asshole for no reason.

And bluegrass, I'm shocked and appalled at your behavior.Bluegrass, that was absolutely uncalled-for.

I was being real nice to this guy. I recommended two great books from Ray Franz that would help him with his situation and tried to warn him that there are some atheist on this board who would use this opportunity to destroy his faith in God and than he calls me asshole for absolutely no reason. Needless to say that really pissed me off.

Just because something grows doesn't mean it's alive. I use to get pimples that grew pretty large, didn't mean they were living.

Your question already assumes that the account in the Bible of how death entered the world is untrue.

This is simply not true. Why do you think plants and animals need to die for humans to live? People can live perfectly healthy lives on a vegetarian diet. Also what benefit for us would it be for trees that produces fruit to die?

Seeds aren't living organisms so they don't die when you plant them. I don't see how someone's death feeds the "cycle of life" (whatever that is). Are you saying because worms eat the flesh of dead bodies humans need to die?
